Recycling for a Better Business

A Better Hanger: Small Changes That Help Reduce Waste

Have you noticed the blue hangers we use for your professionally laundered shirts?

When it was time to choose a new shirt hanger at Best Care, we wanted something that would do more than simply hold a freshly pressed shirt. We chose a sturdy, plastic-coated wire hanger that is reusable and recyclable.

It may seem like a small detail, but when you process thousands of garments, small choices can make a meaningful difference.

Designed to Be Used Again

One of the things we like most about our hangers is that they aren't intended to be single-use.

When you're finished with your Best Care hangers, simply bring them back to us. We sort and inspect the returned hangers, clean those that are still in excellent condition, and put them back into circulation.

This allows one hanger to be used again and again instead of being discarded after a single trip home from the dry cleaner.

What Happens to Damaged Hangers?

Not every hanger can be reused.

Hangers that are bent, rusted, broken, or otherwise damaged are separated from the reusable ones and sent for metal recycling rather than being thrown into the garbage.

It's a simple system: reuse what we can and recycle what we can't.

We'll Even Give You a Box

We've made returning your hangers easy.

Pick up one of our complimentary cardboard hanger recycling boxes at either Best Care location. Keep it in your closet or laundry room, add your unwanted dry cleaning hangers as you go, and bring the box back to us when it's full.

We'll take care of the sorting, cleaning, reusing, and recycling from there.

Small Choices Are Part of a Bigger Commitment

Hanger recycling is just one of the ways we're working to reduce waste at Best Care.

From reusable garment bags and reduced packaging to energy-efficient equipment, environmentally responsible cleaning methods, and technology that reduces our reliance on paper, we're continually looking for practical ways to make professional garment care more sustainable.

We also believe that one of the most important things we can do for the environment is help your clothing last longer. Proper cleaning, stain removal, pressing, alterations, and repairs can extend the life of garments you already own and reduce the need for replacement.

Have Hangers? Bring Them Back!

The next time hangers start accumulating in your closet, don't throw them away.

Bring them back to Best Care. We'll reuse the ones we can and recycle the ones we can't.

It's one small thing we can do together to help keep unnecessary waste out of our landfills.
